Back and better than ever, 2026’s Summer of History invites visitors to discover our province’s unique and diverse heritage while entering for the chance to win! There are over 100 heritage sites in New Brunswick that are open to the public, and many offer services in both French and English. Visitors are invited to tour our historic villages, museums, heritage homes, civic buildings, art galleries, former industrial and military sites, and so much more.
Guests can enter to win great prizes every time they visit one of our participating sites. This initiative is presented by Association Heritage NB and New Brunswick Museum, supported by Tourism, Heritage and Culture NB. Event and contest details are available through summerofhistory
A new experience will be showcased every day on social media during the visitor season between mid-May and September. Weekly “Road Trip Maps” will be shared to inspire people to get out on the road and see as many sites as they can. Learn about rural museums, lighthouses, historic villages, monuments, art galleries, and discover city museums. Add these experiences to your summer plans!
Once visitors enter one of the participating sites, and they pay admission or make a donation, staff will share a poster with the contest link and QR code, where they will be able to enter the “Summer of History” contest. There will be a weekly draw for free entry to one of the participating museums and heritage sites. The Grand Prize will be the “Golden Ticket” which allows the winner and a guest free entry into any and every museum or heritage site of their choice for the whole 2027 summer season. The Grand Prize draw will remain open until October 15th, encouraging fall visits to sites that are open later in the season and highlighting museums and galleries that are open year-round.
